Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir everything together.

In another bowl, whisk the eggs with sugar until frothy. Add sour milk (or yogurt), regular milk, and oil (or melted butter). Mix well.

Combine dry and wet mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until smooth. The batter should be somewhat thick but pourable. If too thick, add a bit more milk.

If desired, mix in raisins or grated apples for added flavor.

Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish.

Bake for about 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let it cool slightly before cutting into squares. Kukuruzna zlevanka can be served warm or at room temperature. It’s often enjoyed with a dollop of sour cream, jam, or just plain.
