  1. Place the rinsed rice, cinnamon sticks, and 2 cups of water in a blender.

  1. Blend until the rice and cinnamon are roughly ground.

  1. Add the remaining 2 cups of water and let it soak at room temperature for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  1. Blend the soaked mixture again until smooth.

  1. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher to remove the rice solids and cinnamon sticks.

  1. Stir in the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Adjust the sweetness to taste.
