The Dough:

  1. First pour 1 kg of flour into a bowl. Then add 400 grams of chopped butter to the flour and knead it with your hands.
  2. Mix the butter and flour for the dough

  4. Then, in a separate bowl, mix warm milk, powdered sugar and yeast well and wait for 2 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with egg yolks, vanilla, and salt.
  6. Then add these mixtures to the dough and knead it with your hands until it is completely firm.
  7. After the dough is ready, add the remaining milk because it is firm and knead it again.
  8. Cover it with a stretch film and wait for it to rise. And after 30 minutes, the shekerbura dough is ready.

The Filling:

  1. First, add powdered sugar to the previously ground hazelnut kernels and mix.
  2. Add cardamom and mix well again.
  3. Shekarbura filling is ready.

The Shekerbura Pattern:

  1. Divide the risen dough into 40 small balls.
  2. Cover the logs with cellophane to prevent them from drying out.
  3. Then take the logs one by one and roll them out in a circle with a rolling pin.
  4. Put 1 tablespoon of filling inside the finished log and tighten the edges. And twist it into a spiral.
  5. Then you can decorate it as you wish with shekerbura tweezers.
  6. Place the finished shekerburas on a baking sheet lined with foil.
  7. Before putting them in the oven, pierce the shekerburas in several places with a sterile needle.
  8. Put them in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes, making sure not to brown the top.
  9. Your traditional Shekerbura is ready. Nuş Olsun!
